Camelid and Farm Animal Patients

Camelid and Farm Animal Patients

The Hospital for Large Animals at Cummings Veterinary Medical Center at Tufts delivers around-the-clock ambulatory service for a variety of farm animals and camelids. The highest numbers of non-equine patients seen at the hospital are alpacas and llamas. All Hospital for Large Animals patients receive the same high-quality diagnostic services and treatment options that are available. This includes diagnostic imaging, 24-hour emergency and critical care, rumen transfaunation and isolation facilities.

Though most of the farm animals seen at the Hospital for Large Animals are companion animals rather than production animals, Tufts Veterinary Field Service located in Woodstock, Conn., provides on-the-farm care of production farm animals.
