Tufts at Tech Community Veterinary Clinic

What is your job and what is your favorite part of it?

Tufts at Tech is a student-run clinic. The fourth-year DVM students and the WTHS students are learning what it takes to work in a busy vet clinic. I am there to support them whether it’s filling a prescription or putting a pet under anesthesia and everything in between. My favorite part, and where I spend most of my time, is helping them perform a dental procedure. Most go into it saying that they hate teeth. By the end, they say how fun and rewarding it was.

How long have you been at Cummings School and what makes it such a special place to work?

I started at Cummings School in 2015. It has given me many opportunities to share my knowledge and love of veterinary dentistry with the students. Experienced technicians are a valuable educational resource for the students and the Department of Clinical Science has been highly supportive of my efforts to provide them with more dentistry education.

What brings you the most joy?

I work with the most amazing team of people. The faculty, staff, and volunteers at Tufts at Tech are the heart of the clinic. I count myself lucky to work with them through the highs and lows that come with veterinary medicine.
